Finding Positive Energy Within

Too long has it been since I have written a post on my website.  I started working a 3rd shift job and completely pulled away from my “thoughts” here!  As we all begin new journeys in our life, we fall prey to the upcoming reactions to the very same actions we begin.  For example, when we get used to one activity in our life, so does our body.  When our activities change, our bodies get sore trying to adapt.  The same holds true with our minds, until we get our bodies back on a schedule, our minds can’t keep up.

I am Spiritual, not religious.  I don’t want to believe that we are destined to live a specific life, predestined down a path with no choice of how or where I am going to end up.  I believe that through our choices, good and bad, we make the path that we live.  That is why it is so important to not only be in tune with all of the energy around us, but also at the same time be in tune with the energy inside us.

There are many variations of connecting to the “energy” that I speak of.  One of the simplest ways that come to mind is finding a quiet place to sit and relax.  Close your eyes and calm your thoughts, or clear your mind while taking long and slow breathes.  Start from your head moving slowly down through your body to your toes, feeling the energy inside of your own body and how each breathe calms you inside.  Yes, I am talking about meditating.  With practice, this is a great way to relax everyday and stay in tune with your own personal energy.

As I continue down this road that I am on and get more in tune with the energies in my life, I will do my best to also write and share what I learn.  I wish you all great health and positive healing on your journey and I look forward to any comments that you might have.  I also hope to hear about some of your experiences and challenges you may learn to overcome while traveling down your path in life.

Transfiguration – One Way to Utilize a Decaying Tree

We had this pine tree out in the yard that the top died on, too many years ago to remember.  This last weekend I went outside with the chainsaw and finally brought it down… well, mostly

Prior to cutting it, I had a discussion with my mom on what was to come of this tree.  Her idea was great, “leave the stump and put a birdhouse on it.”  So, I went to work on the tree.  With the help of family, we pulled all of the limbs away in order to decide on how/where to cut the tree in order to put the birdhouse on the standing stump.

I must admit that the during the delimbing process, I am glad that I left a few of the upper branches a bit longer.  I ended up cutting the top off of the tree, right where it started to die. It left a really nice platform for the birdhouse to rest on.  I cannot wait to see the birdhouse that we get for the top!

One of my favorite quotes, “from every rain, comes new life,” (author unknown) reminds me that there is beauty in everything around us, we just have to be able to see it.  I am happy to say that from where the old dying tree once stood, a new birdhouse will now be placed, allowing for the birds to continue utilizing the tree.

Where Do You Find Beauty in Your Life

Good Evening Family.

I was driving down the road today when my spirits were lifted by all of the Beauty that I saw around me as I drove into town.  I will admit that in my day so far, my To Do List was falling a bit short from being complete, so I was a bit down.  It is Ironic how such small things in your day can so easily distract you .  While I was still getting important things taken care of, the to do list that I just started, was getting… left behind.

As I was driving into town to help a friend, in the process marking one of the to do’s off my list, I was reminded of how much I do enjoy this time of year!  The multitude of different colors that I saw, just bewildered my mind.  The difference in the types of trees that surround our community is displayed in the different color of leaves that not only litter the ground, but also radiate from the canopy of trees!

I grew up here in Michigan too, so I shouldn’t be as surprised by the fall colors as much as I was today.  I believe that it had to be the mindset that I was in as I drove into town.  Which brings me to the uplifting note that I felt as I first started seeing the beauty surrounding me.  It doesn’t matter where we are in our life, we just need to allow ourselves to put our personal feelings away for a minute, and look around at the world around us… We should be amazed at how small the problems that we give so much attention to, in reality, really are small!  They are so minor in comparison to our world around us!

I know that I fall into the same category of allowing my immediate focus to be on what is right in front of me.  As I struggle through my day trying to complete my daily To do’s… only ending up falling short… I get very frustrated too!  Personally, I am so grateful that through the reading that I have been doing lately, it has been reminding me to take a break.  Actually the need to schedule a break in daily, in order to make sure that I allow myself time to clear my mind and relax.  We all need time for that break from the daily routine to clear our minds and relax.  Our effort and actions after that break will be so much more productive, as long as we learn how to clear our mind and actually relax.

I hope that these pictures help you to see some of the beauty that I saw on my drive today.  I know that a picture can be worth a million words.  I also know that you will never actually be able to see the true beauty through a pic, that you will see with your own eyes.  So remember to stop periodically throughout your day, and see the beauty in the world around you.  I hope that you will all stay tuned to this channel, as I will continue my discussion on how to catch your breath (not literally) and relax tomorrow…
